Typing an annotation, it enters the characters in reverse order

  1. Which browser, operating system and versions of those are you using?
    FIrefox 96.0.3 (64bit)
    Mac OS Big Sur 11.3.1

  2. Which version of Memex are you running?
    3.1.2

  3. What are the steps you took that lead to the bug?

  • Highlight something and click to annotate it (sidebar isnā€™t already open)
  • Begin typing annotation
  • The text inputs itself in reverse

Thanks for the details here, and the demo GIF!
This is odd though! I canā€™t reproduce this on both FF and Chrome/brave.

Do you have any other extensions running that may influence this?

Iā€™d be looking for extensions that also work on text fields, or keyboard shortcuts, like Vimium.

Thanks for the quick reply. I disabled all of my extensions except Memex, restarted my browser, and still encounter the issue. It might be worth noting that if I click the textbox before I begin typing, it works fine. Very strange behavior.

Ok with this instructions i could reproduce it.
We also have a few other issues with the editor in Firefox.
Will investigate this in the next days. Very weird issue!

This is fixed now and should be available on FF in a couple of minutes.

Hello. I am using Memex version 3.2.26, and am experiencing this same issue. My Firefox version is 104.0. Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6. Issue is exactly the same as the OP.
