I love that there is a built-in inbox in memex. What I don’t love is that everything is placed in inbox by default, even if I select other collections to save it to. And, I have to manually remove things from my inbox once I’ve tagged & sorted it into other collections. It adds too many extra steps to what should be a quick capture.

Ideally, I’d love to be able to set conditions for when something is automatically added or removed from my inbox like:

  • When an item is saved without selecting a collection, place in inbox
  • When an item is assigned to a collection, remove from inbox
  • When an item is tagged, remove from inbox

I absolutely second every sentence in this post. A reply would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for leaving this here. Would love to see it too though probably not getting to that anytime soon. We have a few other things on the roadmap that are more important and are focusing a lot more on getting the collaboration features right these days.
