Cannot select (highlight then right click, to do other things such as Copy) more than 1 word

To get your bug fixed faster please try to answer the following questions:

  1. Which browser, operating system and versions of those are you using?
macOS Ventura 13.2.1, Arc browser (Chromium-based)

  2. Which version of Memex are you running?
    latest

  3. What are the steps you took that lead to the bug?

  • Highlight a sentence
  • Right click
  • Only 1 word can be selected (previously highlighted words are deselected)

I just tried and could reproduce as long as the highlighting tooltip was enabled.

Does it still happen if you press the X, then highlight a sentence and right click it?

Maybe I wasn’t clear enough. It wasn’t about the highlight function of Memex, but about Memex’s interfering with the “select text then right click” function of the OS.

Hope these vids would clarify the issue:

By the way, I tried again with Chrome 111.0.5563.64 (Official Build) (arm64), got the same issue.
Thank you for your support!

thanks a lot for that info! Indeed as I suspected the tooltip is enabled.
I can reproduce it when its enabled, so what you can do is just either clicking on the “X” icon to remove it temporarily or shift click on it to disable it entirely and instead use the keyboard shortcuts for the interactions to highlight/annotate/summarise.

I’ll have a look to find out if I can fix it though.
